Program & Events: Committees & Programs
The Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce believes by uniting together, more can be accomplished. Through a variety of working committees, a variety of programs and events are offered to the community, ultimately increasing business exposure and overall quality of life.
Annual Celebration Committee
The Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce Annual Celebration Committee is a group of Chamber member volunteers who collaborate to plan the Chamber's Annual Celebration. The committee selects the banquet caterer, entertainment, decorator, etc., and aids the Chamber staff in coordinating other details for the banquet.
The Annual Celebration Committee meets just a few times November through January on an as-needed basis to make arrangements for the banquet. Committee members are notified in advance of any called meetings. The event is the last Tuesday in February each year.

The Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors are a group of Chamber member volunteers who work to promote participation in Chamber events and activities, to recruit and retain Chamber members and to represent the Chamber at related functions. The guidance, influence and commitment of our Ambassadors greatly contribute to the success of Chamber projects. Christmas in Clinton Parade Committee
The Christmas Parade Committee is a group of member volunteers who help to plan,
organize and facilitate the Christmas in Clinton Parade. The committee is responsible
for reviewing entry applications and is present the day of the parade for line-ups.
The committee also assists the Chamber office in attending to the necessary details
that make the Christmas parade both enjoyable and safe for all spectators.
Meetings of the Christmas Parade Committee are called as needed between August
and December for preliminary planning and once in January post-parade discussions.
The Christmas in Clinton Parade is the 2nd Saturday in December each year.

Small Business Committee
The Clinton-Sampson Small Business Committee is a group of member volunteers who meet annually to discuss recognition of area businesses and business leaders for their accomplishments in business excellence and service. Multiple nominees for the Small Business Excellence Award, Business Person of the Year Award and the Entrepreneurial Success Award are considered by the committee. Three nominees for each award are presented to the membership for voting by secret ballot. The previous year’s recipient of the award announces the winners of business awards at the Annual Celebration.
The Small Business Committee meets on a called basis between November and January.
Multicultural Business Committee
The Multicultural Business Committee was developed in 1999 by a select group of Minority Business Owners who recognize the need to address Minority Business Concerns. The purpose and goals of this committee are to:
The Multicultural Business Committee plans the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Reception, which is held on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day each January. The committee meets on an as-needed basis.

Leadership Steering Committee
The Leadership Steering Committee is formed by eight member volunteers who work collectively to coordinate the Leadership Clinton-Sampson Program. Each committee member is responsible for making arrangements for two program days (one for the adult class and one for the junior class). The committee reviews and selects applicants for the Adult Leadership Class. The Leadership Steering Committee meets in early summer for preliminary planning of the Leadership Program. Other necessary meetings are infrequent and are called on an as-needed basis.
The Chamber strives to give Chamber Members and area businesses a variety of opportunities to increase their exposure to spur economic growth and development. In 2017, in partnership with the Sampson County Agri-Exposition Center, the Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce is excited to offer a showcase filled with Expo style booth spaces, seminars, a business development leadership luncheon and more. Chamber Coat Closet
The Coat Closet Project began in 2009 as a program in order to assist those in need
this winter. The coats are donated by individuals and organizations, and dispersed
through DSS, Sampson County Partnership for Children, Sampson County Schools,
Clinton City Schools and Sampson County Schools Migrant Education Program. The
majority of the families served will be residents of Sampson County but we will assist
any family that requests a coat from this initiative. Our goal is to meet the needs of
families who are not financially able to provide warm coats for themselves and their
The Chamber Coat Closet is committee run by Chamber Members that volunteer to assist in this program. The marketing for this project begins each September with coat collection taking place the entire month of November. Over 425 sponsorship letters and a press release will be launched in September followed by Radio and Newspaper advertising to help inform the community. Drop off locations will be strategically positioned throughout Sampson County. Our goal is for all coats to be distributed to those in need by Christmas.

Sampson Perspective & Washington Perspective
The Governmental Affairs Committee consists of principle-oriented, successful, and committed community leaders, visionaries, business leaders, educators, and others who demonstrate a powerful commitment to the betterment of our communities and its citizens. With the purpose to collectively and productively serve the best interest of our county and to foster an environment of cooperation that will serve as a model to others. This committee hosts a variety of events based to ensure the Chamber is serving as the voice for the members. Past events include Governmental Round Tables and a 2013 & 2014 Sampson Perspective. Click Here to view the 2014 Sampson Perspective. Each year, an extension of the Governmental Affairs Committee travels to Washington D.C. to attend the Washington Perspective. This event gives the Chamber the opportunity to sit one on one with our elected leaders in Washington D.C. to discuss Sampson County's business challenges and concerns.
Safety Awards Banquet
As part of the Chamber's mission to support and promote a health business and industry environment,
the Chamber is delighted to assist the North Carolina Department of Labor in honoring each industry that
has placed an emphasis on safety throughout the year. Each June we commend both the business and
its employees for this effort and appreciate the recognition of these accomplishments by the
Department of Labor. The Chamber values the county's workforce and each year it is evident that the
area businesses and industries make the safety and health of their employees a priority.
Young Professionals of Sampson County
The Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the establishment of a Young
Professionals group within Sampson County. Established in 2015, Young Professionals of Sampson
County is a sub-organization of the Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce with the mission to
connect young professionals, engage within the community and advance in leadership development
to be the leaders of tomorrow. As young professionals within the age range of 22 to 40 come together
to Connect, Engage and Advance, we look forward to the establishment and growth of this organization.

Volunteer Managers Network
Volunteers ensure the growth and success of many organizations within Sampson County. The Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce is proud to offer a volunteer managers network that meets throughout the year to discuss volunteer recruitment, retention, promotion and more. With this mission to equip volunteer managers with the tools needed to attract and retain volunteers, ensuring each organization continues to grow and provide services to the County of Sampson.
The Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce partners with many organizations throughout the year to provide more opportunities to the community including: Christmas in the City, Veterans Day Event, New Member Orientation, Chamber Days and more.
A variety of other events are also offered throughout the year based on the needs of the membership and Sampson County.
