SMALL BUSINESS AWARDS ELIGIBILITY AND EVALUATION CRITERIA
Business Person of the Year Award
- All nominees must be Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce members.
- Any individual who owns and operates or bears principal responsibility for operating a business may be nominated. Partners who, jointly own and operate a business may be nominated as a “team,'” so long as the number of individuals in the team nomination does not exceed four.
- Staying power: a substantiated history as an established business.
- Employee welfare: a benchmark to judge the impact of the business on the job market.
- Indication of continued growth as it relates to sales volume and employee base.
- Response to adversity: ability to face and solve economic problems.
- Voluntary efforts beyond business and professional responsibility to assist the community and to promote economic stability and growth through his/her support of other businesses.
Small Business Excellence Award
- All nominees must be Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce members.
- Staying power: a substantiated history as an established business.
- Employee welfare: a benchmark to judge the impact of the business on the job market.
- Indication of continued growth as it relates to sales volume and employee base.
- Response to adversity: ability to face and solve economic problems.
- Contributions by nominee to aid community-oriented projects, evidence of the use of personal time and resources.
Entrepreneurial Success Award
- All nominees must be Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce members.
- Any individual who serves as a majority owner and operates or bears principal responsibility for operating a small business with a two (2) year track record.
- Increased employment opportunities created by the nominee’s business.
- Development and/or utilization of innovative or creative business methods.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial potential necessary for long-term business success and
- economic growth.
Community Service/ Non-Profit Award
- Community Service/ Non-Profit Award
- All nominees must be Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce Members.
- Any individual must project a positive image of his industry and its members.
- Must be a talented communicator in the non-profit communications arena.
- Must be highly creative, highly innovative and exceed expectations beyond job requirements.
- Individual must have leadership qualities (ability to manage internally, externally and inter-departmentally).
- Financial management is also important where applicable.
- Volunteer efforts in the community are also necessary when making a non-profit public relations award.
